Gourmet Knife
want to get a part time job. how does it work?
to start, I'm 16 and I want to get a part-time job at a local grill/pub (a bike ride away).
I was thinking of working 20 +- hours per week.
I have an "internship" at a gourmet resturant, but it's a school internship (no pay) & it's farther away (8 miles away). so i at least know how to cook and use a knife.
the thing I'm unsure of is the hours.
i was thinking of mostly working on the weekends & a little on Monday and Friday.
(see below for details)
but I'm also on an airsoft team that does all-weekend games once a month.
so i wouldn't be there at least one weekend out of the month, whenther it's airsoft, sleep-overs, etc.
how would i convey to the manager that I'd only be working about 15 hours per week average? would this be acceptable?
also, about how much would i make per hour?

monday: 2pm - 5pm (3 hours)
friday: 3pm - 6pm (3 hours)
saturday: 11am - 6pm (7 hours)
sunday: 11am - 5pm (6 hours)
total: 19 hours
You should definitely apply for jobs. But I think it will be very very hard to find an employer that will be acommodating to your schedule (they want you to accomodate their schedule, not the other way around) so you may need to be more flexible on the hours you can work.
The rate of pay will likely be minimum wage to start - you can check the prevailing rate at your state's department of labor website.
