What coverage would I get on my automobile if I were to have a lifetime warranty?
Would the dealership fix it or replace parts?
It depends on the warranty company and the level of coverage you choose. There are a lot of warranty providers, and I'm sure each one offers several plans, so you can pretty well pick and choose what you want and can pay for.
Before you buy, though, check out the sites on the web that give consumers' ratings on the different companies; you can Google "complaints name of company" (and put in the name you're looking for) to see what's there, and watch on Answers for questions and comments. One company in particular, which I won't name, seems to have a lot of gripes filed against it, but I've recently seen it advertising on TV.
