How can I cut a piece of hard polyurethane?
I've tried using a cutter knife and carving the block to the shape that I want but it is not accurate at all. The hardness of the polyurethane that I have is slightly softer than wood.
I've tried a hacksaw and it is also imperfect. Guys at machine shops said they won't cut it since it may affect the teeth on their cutting equipment.
How else can I cut this piece of polyurethane more neatly?
Variable speed jigsaw would work as well. You just need to use a fine tooth blade and run it slow. I've cut acrylic sheets often with my jigsaw and works fine. The edge will melt a bit from the heat from the friction if you go to fast, but this just snaps off and leaves a clean edge.
