Intel Dual Xeon Processor good for gaming?
I have two older Dual Xeon processors NIB which I want to use for my new computer system. They are two 2.4 GHZ/533 MHz System Bus/ 1MB L3 Cache Xeon processors. I am told they are SL7D4 processors and I want to see if they are still pretty good processors to run. I want to run some pretty new games and plan on buying an ATI Radeon HD 5770 (http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/ati-radeon-hd-5000/hd-5770/Pages/ati-radeon-hd-5770-overview.aspx) because I game. Bottom line, is it worth building a system with those processors or should I sell them?

A Xeon could make a good gaming chip, if the clock speed was appropriate. But a 2.4GHz processor with 1MB of L3 cache will definitely bottleneck a HD 5770 video card.
I'd advise you to sell those processors, use the money to get a Phenom II X4 955. That would be a much better gaming processor to match with an HD 5770. Then just add 4GB or so of RAM that matches the motherboard and a decent 750W Corsair brand power supply and a black or blue line WD hard drive and DVD burner and case of your choice, and you are all set...
