What do you think of this Arcosteel 6pc Knife Set deal?
Came across this Arcosteel 6pc Knife set deal that is going for $24.99. It was going for $69.99.

Should I get it?
The only reason you should get this knife set if if your budget is 25 and you absolutely have to have a set for that price.
Or you like that design so much that nothing else works for you 
Otherwise, there is no reason to consider that set.
Why you shouldn't buy that set:
1) They don't say which steel it is. As usual if the manufacturer used half decent steel they specify the what it is. Stainless Steel is way too generic, just as surgical stainless steel. Both refer to very low grade 420 or 300 series steels. Neither will make a good Kitchen Knife. They dull too soon, and you can't sharpen thin edges on them at all.

2) It is a set. Which means you will get at lease one useless knife. In that particular set Utility Knife is that useless one. Too short to be good veggie chopper like a chef's knife, too long to be good for a Paring Knife, and besides you get both, chef's and paring in that set.
3) If you look around that set is going for 30$-35$ in many places. 25 is less than that, but nowhere it is sold for 69$. At least you can get that any day for 35$, so your savings are much less than that add suggests.
4) You get what you pay for and for that price you will not get anything good.
5) Bolster on the knife is neither hygienic, not ergonomic. The description is misleading. And contrary to the popular knife myths a good kitchen doesn't need neither a bolster nor a Full Tang.
