What size or kind of sharpening stone or tool do I need for a hand saw?

A hand saw is usually sharpened with a file, but it an exacting job. As the saw cuts on both the forward and back strokes, teeth are sharpened on both sides, (front facing and rear facing), and are offset alternately left and right of center, (called 'setting'). You could do it yourself with a fine cut triangular file, or a specific saw docoring file, but for best results, it's better to have it sharpened professionally.
