how does sri lankan cuisine differs from other cuisines in the world?

Being a former chef, and having eaten in a number of local Sri Lankan restaurants, the difference from the Indian and other South Aaian cuisines is not that much, there food is more like Southern India, more coconut milk and spicer than some areas in India, and as a colonial ex pat from England, there is some western influences.
Sri Lanka is a varied country, what I mean you have Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and a large Christian (mostly Catholic from the Portugese), so fish, meat veg and rice are the base of there cuisine. The finest tea was and is still grown in Sri Lanka, and still is labelled as Ceylon, the old colonial name for the island.
